To qualify for the Solar Victoria hot water rebate you generally need to be an owner-occupier, meet the household income test, and the property must not have previously claimed a Solar Homes hot water rebate. Note the income cap is changing from 1 July 2026. The Victorian Energy Upgrades discount has no income test. We confirm exactly what you qualify for as part of the quote.

Yes. From 1 March 2027, a failed gas hot water system in an existing Victorian home must be replaced with an electric one, you will not be able to put another gas unit in. 2026 is the last year to switch on your terms, with rebates available and time to choose the right system rather than making a rushed emergency call.
